the 2001 campaign for City Council. I hope to continue to work with you
onaddressing the issues and concerns of our diverse communities in
Lower Manhattan. We are maintaining the council website for archival
purposes but we will soon launch a new website for Rocky Chin. Stay

Dear Friends & Neighbors:
Thank you for visiting my website to learn more
about who I am and why I hope to represent the residents of City Council
District One. My wife and I have lived in the Lower East Side for over 20
years, during which time I have been intimately involved with issues that
affect our families, our neighborhoods and our community. A civil rights
lawyer for the past 15 years, I have worked to protect tenants?rights,
pushed for anti-discrimination laws and advocated for disability rights.
As your City Council member, I will fight to make
education, housing, and social services accessible and affordable to
working families, the elderly and those with special needs. In addition,
I will call for government accountability, through oversight, to ensure
that government agencies are providing necessary services and enforcing
the laws that protect us.

working towards a vision of New York City where all residents will
benefit from our collective efforts to keep New York the most progressive
