New York – On Wednesday evening, the Coalition for a District Alternative (CODA)- a grassroots community based political organization – decisively voted to endorse Rocky Chin. CODA members pledged strong support for the activist Civil Rights attorney, citing Rocky Chin's long history of leadership in community struggles, on the Lower East Side – fighting for affordable housing, quality schools, the rights of the disabled and for police accountability.
From its formation in 1992, CODA has been actively involved in a number of issues on the Lower East Side such as the fight for decent housing, education, adequate health care and a clean environment. and has been highly successful in running candidates for school board and District Leader races and City Council races.
